Dollar

Due to the sale of dollars by the exporters in the inter-bank, the value of the rupee has increased. The first day of the new business week (Monday 06 February 2023) initially saw an increase in the value of the dollar at the interbank and the dollar appreciated by 92 paisa to Rs 277 50 paise.

After the hike, exporters started selling dollars and the dollar fell below record levels in the interbank market. The dollar has depreciated by Rs 4 58 paise to Rs 272 at the interbank market till the last information on Monday. Interbank dealers say that the expected deal from the IMF will increase the supply of dollars and stabilize the value of the rupee.

It should be noted that progress has been made in the talks between Pakistan and the IMF mission in Islamabad on some issues, while the differences over the revenue shortfall could not be resolved. The Ministry of Finance is hoping to settle matters with the IMF by February 9.
